Top Kick Boxers of Iran Picked

NOSHAHR, Mazandaran Province The first kick boxing championship contests of Iran in commemoration of Ramsar martyrs ended in Takhti gym, Ramsar, on Saturday and the top players were selected.

A number of 207 kick boxers competed in 16 weight categories in the open tournament. The top players are:

48kg: Ali Esmaeili of Karaj Pouria Club

51kg: Vahid Fotouei of Karaj Mobarez Club

54kg: Mostafa Yadegari of Karaj Pouria Club 57kg: Ali Khodaei of Tehran Ghaffari Club

60kg: Mohsen Limouchi of Karaj Pouria Club 63kg: Saeid Heidari of Karaj Pirouzi Club 67kg: Vahid Khodaverdi of Karaj Pouria Club 71kg: Reza Zandi of Karaj Pouria Club 74kg: Kayvan Sobhani of Karaj Pouria Club 76kg: Hassan-Ali Mohammadi of Karaj Pouria Club 80kg: Seyed Abbas Hosseini of Tehran Asia Club 84kg: Seyed Abolfazl Mir-Bozorgi 86kg: Mostafa Sabeti of Karaj Pouria Club 91kg: Omid Khani of Karaj Pouria Club +96kg of open: Abbas Zandi of Tehran +96kg : Nader Bal-Afkan of Karaj Pouria Club

According to IRNA, the selected players are to attend the training sessions of Iran's national team, which is to take part in the world sport kick boxing competitions to be held in Canada in in early January 2002.

At the end of Ramsar clashes, the Arbitration Committee chose Mehran Khosh-Solouk as the best judge, Vahid Khodaverdi as the most technical kick boxer, Yassin Khosh-Jahani as the most well-mannered athlete, and Reza Zandi as the best coach.
